We feel extremely fortunate to have connected with the Jux Developments team who created our dream home in 2021. After we purchased a sloping block with difficult access in Indooroopilly and completed concept designs with an architect, we struggled to find a builder that was willing to take on the project and work with us to deliver it within our budget. During our first meeting, it was very clear John and Carrie had taken the time to understand our vision, thinking outside the box to provide innovative solutions in order to make it a reality. We immediately felt assured that we were in capable hands and that we were going to be able to work very well together. John, Carrie and the Jux team are incredibly well organised and the communication throughout the build was just awesome. Their attention to detail and client focus was amazing. Despite it being a challenging year for price rises and supply chain constraints, the team were always one step ahead in dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors. Nothing was too much trouble for John and Carrie. They made the many decisions a seamless process and were always willing to answer any questions we had along the way. We couldn’t be happier with our new house – the build quality is exceptional. The whole process was an absolute pleasure and we couldn’t recommend Jux Developments highly enough!!
We had a complicated three block subdivision to deal with which required one house to be raised and moved to allow for two car parks and new stairs to be installed, as well as a fencing re-alignment between the two existing properties. These changes were mandatory to obtain council approval for a small lot development at the rear. We chose Jux Developments after meeting John and feeling extremely comfortable with his knowledge and building expertise. Not only did John take on the new build he was instrumental in doing the work required on the current properties for which we were very grateful, and kept things on track. He was able to use some new ideas which were acceptable to the council’s rigid character listing in the area. After moving over 700 cubic metres of soil and the slabs laid it became noticeable that the job was progressing on time. John was in touch or on site nearly every day to make sure everything was going to plan but Brett and his team were “ all over it” John came up with some great options that we would not have considered and was quick to make these changes and other ideas we had, at short notice. Nothing was a problem, the team work was consistent, the sub-contractors professional and we would have been lost without Carrie’s exceptional input with the interior design. At the end of the day our house became a home, neighbours commented positively, unknown passer’s by called in for details of the builder and where some of the products used were sourced. We gladly passed on John’s details After handover we had a most enjoyable afternoon with everyone involved with the build as we wanted them to see the home they had built as a finished product and to thank them for their work individually It was one of the most exciting projects that we had attempted and definitely not the nightmare that we had heard stories about. When we first contacted John about building our new home, from that first conversation we felt that we’d finally found a builder that we could work with. On meeting John we were sure that it was the right decision. John’s forthright, open and honest approach was welcoming, and we established a great working relationship from the get-go. No build goes exactly to plan and ours was no different, however the issues were minor and were acknowledged and addressed by the team. Our house was completed and handed over within the initial timeframe provided. John Bicanic and his team at Jux exceeded all our expectations and went above and beyond when it came to building our family home. From start to finish, John, Carrie, Brett and Leanne guided our decisions and took control of the project. Being time poor with work and kids meant little leftover time to spend managing a build, and that’s where Jux could be relied upon. We always felt valued as clients and often wondered whether John was actually building any other houses at the time because he always made us feel like we were his only clients. We always got VIP treatment and felt like top priority. The lines of communication were always open, variations were discussed and approved, and suggestions were always forthcoming. “We wanted to build an architect designed home on a sloping small block with the living area upstairs to maximise the views. On top of this we wanted to put our motorhome underneath. We searched the net to find builders who were not afraid of something different.
